Mike and Frances were getting married in a beautiful old barn in the heart of Essex and wanted to display their table seating plan in a way that complimented the barn.
The seating plan was being layered onto a large piece of glass so Mike needed something strong and steady to support the weight of the glass. We set about creating some possible designs and settled on the “pyramid’ structure idea. A lot of the barn was made from oak so we sourced a couple of large oak sleepers and set to work creating the pyramid. A grove was cut into the sleepers at a 3° angle giving the glass extra support and a better look aesthetically. The sleepers were distressed and stained in linseed oil then glued together before being handed over to the glazier to insert the glass.
The finished result was super and gained lots of compliments from the wedding guests….it even had space for a couple of pineapples!!
Co and I wish you both a very happy marriage!
